Woodward Tahoe & High Fives Join Forces
Woodward Tahoehas partnered with the High Fives Foundation for the fifth week camp. In addition, High Fives will be sending several guest coaches along for the week, including Ian Compton and Cody Laplante. The partnership is part of a concerted effort from both sides to raise money to support injured action sports enthusiasts and promote the advancement of action sports in a safe and progressive manner. Moving forward, Woodward Tahoe will donate $50 to the Foundation for every camper who registers for the fourth week of camp, which runs from July 14-20, 2013.
The High Fives Foundation, based in Truckee, CA, is an official 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to raising money and awareness for athletes that have suffered a life-altering injury while pursuing their dream in the winter action sports community. Since its inception, the organization has successfully raised funds, secured alternative treatments and aided in the recovery of over 26 athletes. It is the mission of the High Fives Foundation to continue to grow and become a nation-wide organization that effectively acts as an umbrella for those that participate in the winter sports they love so dearly.
The partnership is a natural fit for both parties. In addition to supporting injured athletes, the High Fives Foundation strongly advocates injury prevention through its B.A.S.I.C.S. Program Service, which is designed to promote safety and awareness through world-class fundamentals coaching and encourages action sports participants to start simple and work their way up. This program is directly aligned with Woodward’s objective of achieving action sport greatness in a safe and progressive environment. High Fives Foundation ambassadors will be on hand during week five of camp to work with the children and further convey the basic principles and best practices of training in a safe manner.
